From Everest, With Love
Rolled canvas (38 × 58 cm) · Medium difficulty
From Everest, With Love
From Everest, With Love paints the great white peak under a deep blue sky, with thin clouds streaking above and a rocky stream leading the eye in from below. Strings of colourful prayer flags run diagonally across the canvas. It is for the trekker, the armchair traveller, or anyone who wants altitude and clear air on the wall.

What you'll paint
Crisp planes of white, ice blue and slate describe the mountain's snowfields, while the valley glows in ochre and gold below. The prayer flags add rows of tiny red, yellow, green, blue and white rectangles; they take a little care, but each one is a simple shape. Rocks in the foreground are warm browns and deep violets, a good contrast to all that cool blue. The style is graphic and clean, with sharp edges between colours, which makes this a medium painting with a very rewarding finish, and the sky is a good place to start while your hand warms up.
