Whiskers Over Tuscany paints a black-and-white cat on a sunny stone terrace, looking out over a hillside village of white houses and terracotta roofs, with two big pots of yellow blossom on either side. Blue mountains rise behind a sky of towering cloud. It is a gift for cat lovers who also love Italy.

What you'll paint

Behind the cat, orange tiled roofs step down a green slope towards a white bell tower, with blue mountains and clouds beyond. Yellow and orange blooms fill the pots and the tree at the right, giving the canvas a golden counterpoint to all that blue. The cat is a clear, simple silhouette, and the village is made from small cream and terracotta shapes that are quick to read. It is a medium painting, with a sunny, contented mood to match the cat's, and the stone terrace in the foreground is a calm place to begin, in warm creams and soft shadows.
